Edge of the Network
The part of a specific network that is closer to the end user.

EIA / TIA standards
The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and Electronics Industries Association (EIA) structured cabling standards define how to design, build, and manage a structured telecom cabling system. These standards determine the order of the wires placed in a typical Ethernet (RJ45) connector.
EIA / TIA

Energy Sustainability
Using electrical energy in a sustainable way.

Epoxies
Strong adhesives formed from a mixture of epoxy resin and a hardener. They are used for bonding, sealing, and coating, particularly in electronics and optics, due to their durability and resistance to chemicals and environmental stressors

Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier
An optical fiber with embbeded Erbium bits that uses electrical current to increase the intensity of an optical signal. These amplifiers allow the optical signal to travel for a longer distance.
EDFA

Etching
A technique used in microfabrication to remove layers from the surface of a semiconductor or some other material.

Ethernet
A family of networking technologies commonly used in local area networks (LANs), metropolitan area networks (MANs) and wide area networks (WANs).

External Cavity Lasers
Lasers with their resonant cavity formed by an external arrangement of mirrors or other optical components. This configuration allows for tunability and adjustment of the laser’s output characteristics.
ECL Lasers
