About the position
EFFECT Photonics is looking for an experienced –
IT Support Specialist
The ideal candidate for this role is a passionate and engaging person who will be responsible for managing Microsoft365 products, installing and maintaining computers, and providing technical support to our employees. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of Powershell, Unifi devices, and possess excellent communication skills.
Role responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to end-users through various channels, including ticketing system, email, phone, and in-person interactions.
- Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 products, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams.
- Knowledge of other Microsoft 365 products is a plus
- Create and maintain documentation on IT processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve IT-related issues.
- Keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in the IT industry
- Conduct research on new technologies to support the company’s growth.
- Participate in IT-related projects as needed.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Experience with IT project management is a plus.

Required / Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or a related field
- Customer Service Oriented (internal and external customers and partners)
- Excellent knowledge and experience support Microsoft 365 services and products
- Strong PowerShell scripting experience and knowledge
- Excellent IT Networking skills and experience
- Strong Troubleshooting and resolution provision experience
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in a professional organization
- Excellent general computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent organization and time-management skills
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
