About the position
EFFECT Photonics is looking for an experienced – Financial Administration Associate
We are looking for a Financial Administrative Associate who is seeking a role with a progressive, fast-moving scale up company, headquartered in the Netherlands with global operations in the US, UK and Taiwan.
You will bring energy along with a strong motivation to develop your career in the financial profession, you will either be a graduate with some experience or an experienced and time served admin professional with a passion for finance.
This Role may be suited to a professional looking for more flexible working hours.
Role responsibilities:
- Timely, correct, and complete processing of invoices from our group companies in the Netherlands, the UK and – over time – the US.
- Timely, correct, and complete processing of bank statements.
- Timely, correct and complete processing of credit card statements and expense notes.
- Create outgoing sales invoices.
- Manage AP and AR mailbox, including follow-up and reminders.
- Financially review purchase orders.
- Check on progress of outstanding invoices to be approved in our purchase to pay system.
- Create weekly payment lists.
- Manage creditor master data.
- Timely, correct, and complete registration of cash register.
- Support during month and year closing and audits.
- Ad hoc activities.

Requirements
About you
We want you to bring your expertise, experience, and passion for finance and accounting where you will help deliver a quality focused and accurate service to our business.
Required / Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Professionally qualified with a minimum BSc in Accounting, along with 3+ years’ experience as a trusted partner in a finance team, ideally with experience within an organisation that has a global footprint.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Economics, Business Administration, or similar field
- 3+ years or experience in a similar position
- Broad knowledge and experience in accounting
- Understanding of the Dutch laws and regulations
- Experience in working with in journal entries, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Knowledge of financial-administrative processes
- Excellent communication skills on different levels of the organization
- Analytic mind and thinking
- Fluent in English
- ERP-Knowledge, “Exact Online” experience would be beneficial.
