EFFECT Photonics takes a platform approach to integration using high-yielding building blocks within the wafer. Growing different quaternary alloys of indium phosphide on a single wafer means that all of the active and passive optical functions of a system can be created within a single chip, which is then combined with simple packaging, designed for high-volume, low-cost manufacture from the very start.
The key enablers for DWDM systems is full monolithic integration of all photonic components within a single chip and being able to produce these in volume with high yield at low cost.
With this capability, EFFECT Photonics is addressing the need for low-cost DWDM solutions driven by the soaring demand for high bandwidth connections between data centers and back from mobile cell towers.
EFFECT Photonics develops and delivers highly integrated optical products based on InP (Indium Phosphide) which is the material of choice for creating efficient laser light sources, waveguides, modulators, and photodiodes used in optical communication systems throughout the world.
Based on our optical System-on-Chip (SoC) technology, EFFECT Photonics is bringing affortable and scalable DWDM to the edges of the network. By leveraging photonic integrating within a single InP chip, our technology enables:

EFFECT Photonic's NarroWave Enabled SFP+ Modules
NarroWave is a new feature that allows customers to monitor and control remote SFP+ modules from the central office, without making any hardware or software changes in the field. NarroWave is agnostic of vendor equipment, data rate or the protocol of the in-band traffic. The host at the central office can access the remote digital diagnostics and monitoring by reading dedicated memory pages of the local SFP+, which are a mirror of the host device. This feature can also be used to send commands to a remote device, which enables use-cases such as automatic tuning and automatic power-balancing. This makes EFFECT'S SFP+ modules a powerful asset in the toolkit of any telecom provider looking to dynamically control and monitor its telecommunication network.
EFFECT Photonics combines its optical System-on-Chip and cost-effective packaging technology to develop and manufacture modules for industry-standard and customised form factors. All of EFFECT Photonics’ optical components are tunable, which gives our customers optimum flexibility in provisioning and system deployment whether in controlled or uncontrolled environmental conditions.
