About the position

EFFECT Photonics is looking for an experienced – Technical Lead – NPI (New Product Introduction)

We are seeking an experienced a Technical Lead for product NPI to join our growing team. This position will be responsible to bring the product from development to high-volume manufacturing. To meet that goal, the NPI product engineer will interact with development and manufacturing through the lifetime of the product. You will work across technical teams and help enable the delivery of EFFECT Photonics family of optical products to market. You will help us to improve and modify designs to help to meet the requirements in touch time, yield, and reliability.

Role responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate NPI projects with development and manufacturing (Including our partners)
  • Own the product manufacturability from the development stage-gates to end-of-life
  • Validate processes to meet manufacturing requirement
  • Work with the production test teams to develop test and production equipment
  • Support contract manufacturer with troubleshooting issues
  • Develop and analysis PFMEA, Control plan, KPIs, Cps and GR&R
  • Design, document and improve manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions
  • Responsible for assigned components or products through their life cycle
  • Responsible for the performance of the product in manufacturing
  • Responsible for product change management
  • Collaborate with the design team and provide design feedback for manufacturability, serviceability, and reliability
  • Lead yield improvement and product cost reduction
  • Analyze and correlate performance of key parameters spanning device to sub-system levels to optimize in-process and final test specifications

Requirements

About you

We want you to bring your expertise, experience, and passion along with a demonstrated track record of delivering new complex products to market to the forefront of our organisation, helping us to create a world class company with a world class reputation.

Required / Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • BS (or MS) degree in Electronics, Optics, Physics, Systems Engineering or related technical field
  • 10+ years’ experience in telecommunications and/or or microelectronics Experienced in New Product Introduction, working with development team and remote CMs
  • Experienced with stage-gate processes and product development
  • Experienced with ECO process controls, and production processes controls
  • Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to solve problems through fact-based decision-making processes
  • Ability to propose and drive solutions through cross-functional teams
  • Strong statistical data analysis skills
  • Reliability engineering experience with Telecom class of products is an asset
  • Candidate will be required to spend time in Maynard, Massachusetts location. Partial remote allowed
